Digital Forensics Across South Florida

If you searched for a digital forensics examiner near you, this page tells you where we are, how far we travel, and which of our city pages you actually want.

SUMMARY OF COVERAGE SOUTH FLORIDA

Enetsec is a digital forensics laboratory at 3651 FAU Boulevard Ste 400 in Boca Raton, Florida. From that lab we serve Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Founder Wanderson Castilho has been in practice 21 years and has given 40 depositions in the past four years.

ONE LABORATORY, NOT A FRANCHISE THREE COUNTIES, THREE CIRCUITS REMOTE AND IN-PERSON COLLECTION

We are one laboratory, not a franchise network. The examination bench is in Boca Raton. What changes from county to county is not the science. It is the courthouse, the filing deadlines, the kind of matter that walks through the door, and how quickly we can be standing in your conference room.

EXHIBIT 01 · THE BENCH AND THE CORRIDOR

Where the laboratory sits, and why that matters

The lab is inside the FAU Research Park in Boca Raton, at the northern end of the I-95 corridor that carries most of South Florida’s legal traffic. From that address, Fort Lauderdale is roughly 25 miles south and West Palm Beach is roughly 25 miles north. We can be at either courthouse, or at your office, inside a working morning.

That geography is deliberate. Digital evidence has a shelf life. Cloud logs age out, devices get wiped by a scheduled backup, and a laptop left running overwrites the very free space we needed to examine. In our experience, the single biggest predictor of how much we recover is how many hours passed between the incident and the moment somebody stopped touching the device.

EXHIBIT 02 · JURISDICTIONS

Counties we cover

Palm Beach County. The 15th Judicial Circuit. Our home county, and the source of most of our corporate and civil litigation work.

Broward County. The 17th Judicial Circuit. A different bench, a different clerk, and a heavier mix of commercial, marine and cross-border matters.

Miami-Dade County. The 11th Judicial Circuit. We take matters here, most often international ones, where our Portuguese and Spanish-language capability is part of why we were called.

Statewide and beyond. Devices can ship under documented custody, and cloud, email and network evidence is acquired remotely. Since 1999 we have handled matters across South and Central America. (Source: Enetsec case record, more than 6,000 cases analysed since 1999)

EXHIBIT 03 · THE SAME SPINE

What we do, wherever you are

Mobile and computer forensic examination. Deleted data recovery. Incident response for ransomware and business email compromise. Identification of the origin of internet attacks. Missing person digital investigation. Expert witness work and rebuttal review of another examiner’s report.

VERIFIED FORENSIC IMAGE HASHES AT ACQUISITION AND ANALYSIS REPRODUCIBLE METHOD FINDINGS A JURY CAN FOLLOW

THE SPINE

Every one of those produces the same spine: a verified forensic image, hash values recorded at acquisition and at analysis, a documented method a second examiner can reproduce, and written findings in language a jury can follow. See the full list on our digital forensics services page.

Frequently Asked Questions

NO. 1 What types of matters can you support in South Florida?

Civil litigation discovery, corporate internal investigations, ransomware and business email compromise response, employee data theft, fraud examination, family and probate disputes involving devices, harassment and stalking matters, romance and investment scams, missing person digital investigations, and rebuttal review of another examiner’s report. We also take law enforcement overflow and second-examination work. If your matter involves a phone, a computer, an account or a network, it is likely in scope.

NO. 2 Can an investigation begin remotely?

Yes, and most do. Cloud accounts, email systems, server logs and network evidence are acquired remotely under documented procedure. Physical devices ship to the Boca Raton lab under a signed chain-of-custody form, or we collect them in person anywhere in Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade. The first conversation is always remote. We would rather spend twenty minutes on the phone scoping the matter than send an examiner to the wrong evidence.

NO. 3 What should I do right now to preserve evidence?

Stop using the device. Do not delete anything, do not run a cleaner, do not factory reset, and do not let a well-meaning IT person start looking. Put the phone in airplane mode and leave it charged. If a computer is infected, disconnect it from the network but leave it powered on if you can, because memory can hold evidence that a shutdown destroys. Photograph screens before anything changes. Then call.

NO. 4 How long does a digital forensic examination take?

It depends on three variables: how many devices, how much storage on each, and whether you need a written report and testimony or only findings. A single phone with a straightforward extraction is commonly a matter of days. A multi-device corporate matter with a formal report runs weeks. Emergency incident response starts the same day. We give you a written scope and timeline before work begins, and we tell you when a deadline is not realistic.

NO. 5 How much does a digital forensic examination cost?

Pricing depends on the number and type of devices, the volume of data, whether cloud or network acquisition is involved, and whether the engagement includes a written expert report, deposition or trial testimony. Single-device consumer examinations sit at the low end. Multi-custodian corporate matters with reporting and testimony sit far higher. We quote in writing after a scoping call, and we will tell you when an examination is unlikely to be worth its cost.

FINAL NODE · TELL US WHICH COUNTY

Start with a conversation, not a purchase order

Call (561) 846-9010 or use our contact page. Tell us which county you are in, what happened, and what deadline you are working against. If we are not the right laboratory for your matter, we will say so on that first call.
