SUMMARY OF SERVICE MISSING PERSON MATTERS

If someone is missing and may be in danger, call 911 first, then call Enetsec at (561) 846-9010. Our Boca Raton lab preserves and examines phones, accounts and message history to find recent digital traces. We have worked cases like this since 1999.

SAME-DAY REMOTE INTAKE PRESERVATION BEFORE RECORDS EXPIRE CUSTODY TO LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARD

EXHIBIT 01 · THE FIRST HOURS

Do these things right now

  1. Call law enforcement first. If the person is a child, is at risk of harm, has a medical condition, or the disappearance is out of character, call 911 now. There is no waiting period to report a missing person in Florida. We are not a substitute for police, and telling you otherwise would waste hours you do not have.

  2. Do not log into their accounts and start deleting or changing things. Do not reset passwords, do not clear notifications, do not sign the account out of other devices. Every one of those actions can remove a record that shows where the person was and who they spoke to.

  3. Find any device they left behind and leave it powered on and charging. Do not restart it. Do not enter passcodes repeatedly. Put it on a charger and leave it alone.

  4. Write down a timeline. Last seen, last message, last call, last post, last transaction. Times and dates, even approximate. This is the single most useful thing a family can hand us.

  5. Photograph what you have already seen. Screenshots of the last messages, the last known location share, any unusual account activity. Photograph the screen with another phone as well, so you have a record even if the app changes.

  6. Then call us at (561) 846-9010. Tell us what you have. We will tell you within one call whether digital examination can help and what needs to be preserved today.

EXHIBIT 02 · WHY TIME MATTERS

Why the first hours matter more than anything else

Digital traces expire. Providers hold location records, login history, message metadata and device connections for a limited time, and each provider is different. Some records age out in days.

Preservation is not the same as recovery. A preservation request made today can hold data that would otherwise be gone by the time anyone thinks to ask for it. This is the part families do not know to ask for, and it is often the part that decides whether a trace still exists a week later.

WHAT A SINGLE RECORD CAN DO

We have handled cases where the useful record was a single automatic login from an unfamiliar network, timestamped, three hours after the last confirmed sighting.

EXHIBIT 03 · WHAT WE EXAMINE

What we actually examine

Devices left behind, including phones, tablets and laptops. Cloud accounts with the account holder’s authority or the lawful authority of a parent or guardian. Message history across platforms, including deleted content still recoverable on the device.

Location artifacts stored by the device and by applications. Login and session records showing when and from where an account was accessed. Photo metadata, which frequently records where and when an image was captured. Contact and communication patterns, including who the person spoke to in the days before, and any account or number that appeared recently and does not fit.

Where the matter involves a phone number or carrier records, cell site analysis and call detail record mapping can place a device in a general area at a given time. That work depends on records obtained lawfully, usually through law enforcement or legal process, and we work alongside those channels rather than around them.

EXHIBIT 04 · THE LIMITS

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you we will find the person. Nobody honest can say that.

What we can tell you is what the evidence shows and what it does not, quickly, and in plain language. Sometimes the answer is that the digital trail ends and the next step belongs to investigators on the ground. We will say that clearly rather than keep a case open for the sake of it.

A HARD LIMIT

We also will not access an account or a device without lawful authority. That is a hard limit, and it exists partly because evidence obtained improperly can damage a law enforcement case you may need later.

EXHIBIT 05 · ALONGSIDE LAW ENFORCEMENT

We work alongside law enforcement, not instead of them

Detectives carry heavy caseloads and forensic queues. Families often hire us to move on the digital side immediately while the official investigation proceeds, and to hand a documented, admissible file to the detective rather than a folder of screenshots.

Everything is worked to the same chain of custody standard used in our forensics lab, so nothing we produce weakens a later prosecution.

Frequently Asked Questions

NO. 1 What should I do right now to preserve evidence?

Call 911 first if the person may be in danger. Then stop changing anything digital. Do not reset passwords, delete messages, sign out of accounts or restart their devices. Leave any device they left behind powered on and charging. Write down a timeline of last contact, last message and last known location, with times. Screenshot what you have already found. Then call (561) 846-9010 so preservation requests can go out while records still exist.

NO. 2 Can an investigation begin remotely?

Yes. Most missing person matters start remotely and start the same day. We can take the timeline by phone, guide you through preserving accounts and devices without damaging them, and begin work on cloud and account evidence before any device physically reaches us. Devices can be shipped with documented custody or handed over at the Boca Raton office. Distance is not a reason to wait, and waiting is the thing that costs the most.

NO. 3 What is cell site analysis and CDR mapping used for?

Call detail records show which cell sites a phone connected to and when. Mapping those connections places the device within a general coverage area over time, which can support or contradict a reported movement. It shows an area, not a precise point, and anyone claiming pinpoint accuracy from CDR data is overstating it. These records come from carriers through lawful process, so this work is typically done alongside law enforcement or counsel.

NO. 4 Can you recover deleted text messages, photos, and files?

Often, from a device left behind. Deleted content frequently remains recoverable until the space is reused, and copies commonly survive in backups, linked accounts and the other party’s devices. In a missing person matter, deleted conversations from the days beforehand are frequently where the useful detail sits. We tell you what is recoverable after examining the device rather than promising results in advance.

NO. 5 How many times has your expert been deposed?

Wanderson Castilho has given 40 depositions in the past four years (Source: SEAK Expert Witness Directory, 2026). He has 21 years in practice and holds Cellebrite, AccessData and Certified Computer Examiner credentials. That matters here for one reason: if a missing person case becomes a criminal matter, the digital work has to survive scrutiny. Evidence gathered carelessly in the first week can be challenged in the first hearing.

NO. 6 Do you take cases nationwide, or only in Florida?

We work from Boca Raton and take matters across the United States and internationally. Missing person cases rarely stay inside one jurisdiction, because accounts, providers and travel cross state and national lines. Remote intake, remote preservation and shipped devices make location largely irrelevant to how fast we can start. Enetsec has operated since 1999 with work spanning South America and the United States.
