THE LABORATORY · FAU RESEARCH PARK, BOCA RATON

Digital Forensics in Boca Raton, Florida

Boca Raton is where the bench actually is. Not a virtual office, not a mail drop. Suite 400 at 3651 FAU Boulevard, in the FAU Research Park, where the write blockers, the Faraday storage and the evidence log physically live.

SUMMARY OF RECORD BOCA RATON LAB

Enetsec runs its digital forensics laboratory at 3651 FAU Boulevard Ste 400 in Boca Raton, inside the FAU Research Park. Examiner Wanderson Castilho is Cellebrite, AccessData and CCE certified, with 21 years in practice. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

3651 FAU BLVD STE 400 MON–FRI 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CCE · CELLEBRITE · ACCESSDATA

You can walk in with the laptop under your arm. We have had general counsel do exactly that at 8:15 on a Monday morning, device still in the bag it was seized in, because the alternative was letting it sit unaccounted for over a weekend.

EXHIBIT 01 · THE LOCAL CASELOAD

Why Boca Raton clients call us

This city runs on employers, not litigants. The FAU Research Park next door is a technology and life sciences incubator. Boca Center and the Glades Road corridor hold financial advisory firms, medical device companies, software vendors and regional headquarters. Mizner Park is where their executives take the meeting after they realise something is wrong.

So the Boca Raton caseload skews corporate. Departing employees who copied the client list to a personal drive on their last Friday. Business email compromise that redirected a wire. A controller whose credentials were used at 3:00 AM from an address in another country. Internal investigations that human resources cannot conduct without a defensible record.

WHAT ACTUALLY GOES WRONG

In our experience, the Boca Raton matter that goes wrong is almost never the one where the attack was sophisticated. It is the one where the company’s own IT team reimaged the machine on day two, because reimaging is what IT is trained to do and preserving is what forensics is trained to do.

EXHIBIT 02 · THE CORPORATE STANDARD

Corporate work, done to a legal standard

We treat every corporate engagement as though it will end up in front of somebody who did not hire us. That means write-blocked acquisition, hash values recorded at acquisition and again at analysis, a signed chain-of-custody form for each item, and a documented method another examiner can repeat.

It also means we tell you what we did not find. A report that only lists hits is not a forensic report. It is an argument.

For regulated firms, that discipline is not optional. We have handled digital security work for advisory and financial firms where the client’s own compliance obligations set the reporting bar higher than any court would.

EXHIBIT 03 · THE FIFTEENTH CIRCUIT

Palm Beach County matters

Boca Raton sits in Palm Beach County, and civil matters here are heard in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. Local counsel typically brings us in at one of two points: early, to preserve before a litigation hold gets tested, or late, to review an opposing expert’s report before a deposition.

THE CHEAPER CALL

The early call is the cheaper one. We have never had a client regret preserving a device too soon.

EXHIBIT 04 · THE FAU CORRIDOR

The FAU technology corridor

Being inside the FAU Research Park has one concrete benefit for clients: proximity to the kind of organisation that has unusual evidence. University spin-outs, research groups and early-stage technology companies run environments that do not look like a standard office network. Custom hardware, shared code repositories, lab instrumentation, source control history that matters as much as any email.

Intellectual property disputes in that corridor turn on commit logs, access records and build artefacts, not on text messages. Since 1999 we have built our method around examining whatever the environment actually is, rather than the environment we wished it was. Frequently Asked Questions

NO. 1 Do you take walk-in consultations at your Boca Raton office?

We take scheduled consultations at Suite 400, and we will accommodate an unscheduled arrival when the matter is time-sensitive and someone is at the bench. Call (561) 846-9010 before you drive over so we can confirm. If you are bringing a device, bring the charger, any passcode or password you lawfully hold, and the name of the person it belongs to. Do not power it on or unlock it on the way.

NO. 2 Do you handle business and corporate investigations?

Yes, and in Boca Raton they are the majority of our work. Departing employee data theft, business email compromise and wire redirection, internal misconduct investigations, vendor and invoice fraud, unauthorised access to financial systems, and intellectual property disputes. We work under counsel where privilege matters, and directly with leadership where it does not. Every engagement produces a written scope before work starts.

NO. 3 Do you work with legal teams and organizational leadership?

Yes, usually at the same time. In a corporate matter the general counsel needs a defensible record and the executive team needs to know what actually happened and what it means for the business. Those are two different documents. We produce a technical findings report with method, tooling and hash verification, and a plain-language summary leadership can read in ten minutes without a translator.

NO. 4 Is my data encrypted while you have it?

Yes. Forensic images and working copies are stored encrypted at rest on lab systems, and evidence media is held in locked storage at the Boca Raton office. Transfers to clients use encrypted delivery, not email attachments. Access is limited to the examiner working the matter. Each access is logged, which is part of why we can answer chain-of-custody questions years after an engagement closes.

NO. 5 Is my case confidential?

Yes. We do not disclose client identities, matter details or findings to anyone outside the engagement without your written instruction or a lawful order. Where we are retained through counsel, we work under that firm’s privilege structure and take direction from the firm. We are happy to sign your NDA rather than insisting on ours. Corporate clients in regulated industries often need specific handling terms, and we will meet them in writing.

NO. 6 Will an examination damage my device or alter my data?

No, and preventing that is the whole point of the method. We acquire through a hardware write blocker or a validated forensic extraction, then examine the image rather than the original wherever the platform allows it. Hash values taken at acquisition and again at analysis prove the data did not change in our hands. Some mobile platforms require limited on-device steps, and when that is the case we tell you in advance and document exactly what was done.
